How it's calculated

We multiply the number of bins you use each month by £5.80 (our single-bin price when bought in a pack of 10) to give a monthly cost, then ×12 for the yearly figure. Add your current invoice amount and we'll compare the two side-by-side.

Send us a recent invoice and we'll send back a like-for-like quote — usually within one working day.

Figures are estimates only and depend on your current service cost, usage and disposal arrangements. In many scheduled servicing models, bins may be collected whether they are full or not, which is why low-volume sites may benefit from a buy-as-you-need alternative.

Paper sanitary bins: FAQs

What is a paper sanitary bin?

A single-use sanitary waste bin made primarily from paper rather than rigid plastic. Hygiene+ bins are approximately 96% paper by weight, with a Bio-mat™ absorbent pad inside and a two-stage paper closure system. Once sealed, the whole bin enters general waste — no plastic shell is reused or returned for cleaning.

Are paper sanitary bins really leakproof?

Yes. The Hygiene+ bin is engineered as a leakproof and waterproof paper construction — the internal Bio-mat™ pad absorbs liquids, and the outer paper body is treated to resist moisture. It performs to the same standard expected of a plastic serviced bin while remaining mostly paper.

How is a paper bin better for the environment than a plastic one?

Two main reasons. First, the body is paper (a renewable fibre) rather than rigid polypropylene plastic. Second, the disposable model eliminates the diesel collection vehicle visiting your site every 4 weeks — over a year that's typically 12+ avoided service trips per bin point.

Where is Hygiene+ manufactured?

Hygiene+ is UK-made by Econix Ltd in Sheffield, the manufacturer of the original Bio-bin® product line. Manufacturing in the UK keeps the supply chain short and the embodied carbon of each bin lower than imported alternatives.

How do I dispose of a used paper sanitary bin?

Seal it using the built-in closure, then place it directly into your normal commercial general/offensive waste bin. Sanitary waste is classified as offensive waste (EWC 18 01 04) in the UK and does not require a specialist hazardous-waste collection.

Can I recycle a used Hygiene+ bin?

No — used sanitary waste cannot enter the paper recycling stream. The bin goes into your offensive/general waste, which is the same route a sealed plastic serviced bin's contents would take. The environmental advantage is at manufacture and collection, not at end-of-life recycling.

What's inside the Bio-mat™ pad?

A cellulose-based absorbent material that traps liquids inside the bin to prevent leaks. No chemical fragrances, no super-absorbent polymers, no perfumes. The pad is included in every Hygiene+ bin — nothing extra to buy.

Is a paper bin durable enough for a full month of use?

Yes. The bin holds up to typical workplace washroom volumes over a month or more — most office, café and clinic washrooms only fill a bin every 4–8 weeks. The two-stage closure keeps odours contained between uses.
