What is a paper sanitary bin?
A disposable sanitary waste bin made mostly from paper rather than rigid plastic. Hygiene+ bins are approximately 96% paper by weight, with a built-in Bio-matt™ absorbent pad inside and a two-stage paper closure — a temporary seal between uses and a permanent seal when full. Once sealed, the whole bin is disposed of; no plastic shell is reused or returned for cleaning.
Are paper sanitary bins leakproof and waterproof?
Yes. The Hygiene+ bin is a leakproof and waterproof paper construction. The built-in Bio-matt™ pad helps absorb moisture and reduce odour, and the outer paper body is constructed to resist moisture.
How does the paper construction affect plastic use?
Approximately 96% paper by weight, reducing the amount of rigid plastic used in the bin body compared with a fully moulded plastic bin.
How do I dispose of a used paper sanitary bin?
For many low-volume workplaces, sealed municipal sanitary waste may be placed in mixed municipal waste where less than 7kg and no more than one bag is produced during the collection period, subject to the waste contractor accepting this route. Higher volumes must be segregated. Customers should confirm their site-specific arrangements with their waste contractor.
Can I recycle a used Hygiene+ bin?
No — once used, the bin and its contents are sanitary waste and cannot enter the paper recycling stream. The sealed bin follows the waste route agreed for your site, as set out in the disposal guidance above.
What's inside the Bio-matt™ pad?
A built-in absorbent pad that helps absorb moisture and reduce odour inside the bin. It is included in every Hygiene+ bin — nothing extra to buy or fit.
What is the bin's capacity?
Each Hygiene+ bin has a 14L capacity. We do not publish a maximum fill weight; replace the bin when it is full, in line with your site's usage.
