How it's calculated
We multiply the number of bins you use each month by £5.80 (our single-bin price when bought in a pack of 10) to give a monthly cost, then ×12 for the yearly figure. Add your current invoice amount and we'll compare the two side-by-side.
Send us a recent invoice and we'll send back a like-for-like quote — usually within one working day.
Figures are estimates only and depend on your current service cost, usage and disposal arrangements. In many scheduled servicing models, bins may be collected whether they are full or not, which is why low-volume sites may benefit from a buy-as-you-need alternative.
Small business sanitary bin FAQs
Do small businesses legally need a sanitary bin?
Yes. The Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 require employers to provide hygienic means of disposal for sanitary waste in any washroom used by women — including washrooms shared with customers. The law does not specify a contracted service; a disposable Hygiene+ bin satisfies the duty.
What's the cheapest way for a small business to provide sanitary bins?
For most small businesses (1–2 cubicles, low to medium use), buying disposable bins is cheaper than any contracted service. Hygiene+ is £5.80 per bin used. Compare that to £8–£15 per bin per visit on a typical 4-weekly contract — and remember, the contract bills you whether the bin is full or empty.
We're a sole trader with one washroom — is this overkill?
No, it's actually a great fit. A single pack of 10 bins (£58) often lasts a sole-trader or micro-business 6–12 months. There's no minimum order, no recurring invoice, and nothing to chase.
I run a salon / café / clinic — does this work for customer washrooms?
Yes. Customer-facing washrooms in salons, cafés, restaurants, clinics, dental practices and shops all use Hygiene+. The bin sits free-standing or on a wall bracket and looks tidy in a customer space — paper-based body, no scuffed plastic shell.
What if I'm already on a sanitary bin contract?
Note the contract end date and the cancellation notice window (typically 60–90 days before renewal). Give notice in writing, then order one pack of Hygiene+ to bridge the changeover. Full step-by-step on our service alternative page.
How do I dispose of a sealed Hygiene+ bin?
Place the sealed used bin into your normal commercial general/offensive waste bin. Sanitary waste is offensive waste (EWC 18 01 04), not hazardous — no specialist collection is required, and your existing waste contractor accepts it.
What about claiming the cost as a business expense?
Sanitary waste provision for staff and customer washrooms is a legitimate business expense for UK VAT-registered businesses. Each order comes with a VAT invoice — request one at checkout or via our contact form.
Will it cope with high-volume periods?
Yes — order extra packs ahead of busier periods. The bin has a 2-stage seal that keeps odours contained, and you can keep spare bins on hand because they take up little storage space.
