Sanitary bins for small business

Small business sanitary bins — without the small-print contract.

Cafés, salons, clinics, shops and sole traders all need a hygienic sanitary bin — but a multi-year service contract is overkill for many small sites. Hygiene+ disposable bins are £4.83 + VAT (£5.80 inc VAT) per bin, VAT-invoiced, and delivered to your door.

Designed and supplied by Econix Ltd. Stocked and dispatched from our Sheffield facility. · UK delivery is £6.99 including VAT, charged at checkout. Tracked dispatch, typically 2–4 working days.

Small business sanitary bin FAQs

Do small businesses need to provide a sanitary bin?

The Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 require employers to provide a hygienic means of disposal for sanitary waste in washrooms used by staff — including washrooms shared with customers. The law does not specify a contracted service; check your own obligations with your adviser.

What's a cost-effective way for a small business to provide sanitary bins?

For many small businesses with 1–2 cubicles and low to medium use, buying bins as needed can work out cheaper than a scheduled contract, because you only pay for bins actually used (£4.83 + VAT (£5.80 inc VAT) per bin) rather than for a fixed visit schedule. Compare this against your current invoices to see what applies to your site.

We're a sole trader with one washroom — is this overkill?

No — it's a good fit. A single pack of 10 bins (£48.33 + VAT (£58.00 inc VAT)) often lasts a sole trader or micro-business many months. There's no minimum order and no recurring invoice.

Does this suit customer-facing washrooms in salons, cafés and clinics?

Yes. Customer-facing washrooms in salons, cafés, restaurants, clinics, dental practices and shops all use Hygiene+. The bin sits free-standing or on a wall bracket, with a paper-based body rather than a scuffed plastic shell.

What if we're already on a sanitary bin service contract?

Check your contract end date and cancellation notice window (often 60–90 days before renewal). Give notice in writing, then order a pack of Hygiene+ to bridge the changeover.

How should a small business dispose of a sealed bin?

For many low-volume workplaces, sealed municipal sanitary waste may be placed in mixed municipal waste where less than 7kg and no more than one bag is produced during the collection period, subject to the waste contractor accepting this route. Higher volumes must be segregated. Customers should confirm their site-specific arrangements with their waste contractor.

Can we claim the cost as a business expense?

Sanitary waste provision for staff and customer washrooms is a normal business cost for UK VAT-registered businesses. Each order comes with a VAT invoice — request one at checkout or via our contact form.

Can we keep spares for busier trading periods?

Yes — order extra packs ahead of busier periods. Bins are flat-packed and take up little storage space, with a temporary seal between uses and a permanent seal once full.
